North and South Korean leaders met in a handshake today, hagged and clasped hands. This is after six decades of wars and tensions.
Kim Jong Un of North Korea, the World’s most reclusive leader, met his longtime enemy, South Korean President Moon Jae-In to become the first North Korean leader to cross the demilitarized Zone (DMZ) into South Korean territory since the worst Korean War ended in 1953.
Kim shocked Moon’s hand and both embraced one another after signing Panmunjom Declaration for Peace, Prosperity and Unification of the Korean Peninsula. They agreed on active cooperation, exchanges, visits, and contacts to rejuvenate the sense of national reconciliation and Unity. Its similar to Uhuru–Raila handshake that also shocked Kenya.
